Cornell's Gabe Dean exploded on the NCAA Wrestling scene last winter when he knocked off Penn State NCAA Champ Ed Ruth at the Southern Scuffle. He has been a household name ever since, and after finishing 3rd in the NCAA as a freshman and earning a spot on the Junior World Team, his name continues to grow in popularity. Michigan Grappler caught up with Dean to discuss how he got to where he is today, including his upbrining, being an average at best youth wrestler, having a wrestling family, and much more.

Dave Dean was the long time assistant caoch for the MSU Spartans. Dave was also NCAA finalist and Big Ten Champion for the Golden Gophers in the 1980's.
