The 2009 Division 2 Regional matchup vs Greenville and Lowell was not your average Regional Dual Meet. Top ranked returning state champs Greenville, who beat Lowell a few weeks prior, were looked at all year as the top team in the state while Lowell was considered the only team in Division 2 capable of challenging them.

The Dual started at 130lbs and Coach Dave Dean and his Red Arrow squad took an early lead after the 2nd match of the night when Andrew Morse scored a fall at 135lbs. They never looked back from there as they built as much as an 18 point lead going into 103lbs.

The difference in the dual was that Lowell won the close matches - The Red Arrows won 4 of the matches that were won by 5 points or less.

A week after this dual Lowell stampeded through the Division 2 State Finals, reassuring the wrestling world that their Dual on this night against Greenville was the true Division 2 State Championship Dual.
